When are oral antibiotics recommended for back acne?

Back acne, also called truncal acne, can involve many follicles and may be difficult to reach with creams. Oral antibiotics target inflammatory activity throughout the treated body area, but they are generally part of a broader plan rather than a stand-alone solution. A clinician may review the type of spots, scarring, previous products, medicines, allergies, and possible causes of a sudden change.

Follow the prescribed dose and timing, and use any recommended topical treatment as directed. Choose loose, breathable clothing, shower after heavy sweating, and avoid picking or abrasive scrubbing.
