When is mental health assessment recommended for ADHD?

Arrange prompt care if low mood, severe anxiety, unsafe impulsive behaviour, or substance use is interfering with safety. Seek emergency help for thoughts of suicide, a plan to harm yourself, or immediate danger. Assessment can address ADHD alongside these concerns.
