When is IVF recommended for unexplained infertility?

Unexplained infertility means routine tests have not found a clear reason for difficulty conceiving. It does not mean that nothing can be assessed or treated. Evaluation may include ovulation, fallopian tubes, ovarian reserve, uterus, and sperm health. IVF can bring several stages of conception into a monitored treatment cycle, which may help the team address factors that routine tests cannot show.

Ask which tests have been completed and whether any should be repeated or extended. A clear plan should include what happens if the first approach does not lead to pregnancy.
