When is hysterectomy recommended for uterine fibroids?

Hysterectomy removes the uterus, so it ends menstrual bleeding and removes the possibility of carrying a pregnancy. The ovaries may be left in place when medically appropriate, which is different from removing the ovaries. Ask which surgical route is suitable, whether the cervix and ovaries would remain, how recovery is expected to progress, and which alternatives fit your plans.
