When is cortisone injection recommended for shoulder osteoarthritis?

Shoulder osteoarthritis affects the cartilage and other structures within the joint, often causing aching, stiffness and reduced reach. Cortisone placed into the joint may calm inflammation and provide a period of easier movement. It does not restore worn cartilage or reverse the arthritic changes.
