What mastitis feels like

Mastitis is inflammation in breast tissue. One area may become tender, firm, warm, or red, often alongside aching, chills, tiredness, or fever. Milk stasis, pressure from a tight bra, changes in feeding, or a damaged nipple can contribute. Inflammation can occur without a bacterial infection, so the treatment depends on the pattern and how you respond over time.
