What to expect from STI screening for chlamydia

A clinician will ask about your sexual health, symptoms, partners, and the kinds of sexual contact you have had. This helps choose the right samples. Tell the clinician about any symptoms and where contact occurred so the sample plan is appropriate.

Chlamydia can cause no symptoms, so screening can be useful even when you feel well. A detected result means infection was found in the sample and needs treatment and partner advice; it does not define your character or explain every symptom.
