Short answer

Physiotherapy for cubital tunnel syndrome usually addresses pressure on the ulnar nerve with activity changes, elbow positioning, gentle exercises and hand-function support.

This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

What the appointment may involve

Cubital tunnel syndrome is irritation or compression of the ulnar nerve behind the inner elbow. Tingling in the little and ring fingers, elbow aching, weaker grip or clumsiness may occur. The therapist may check the neck, shoulder, elbow and wrist, sensation, grip, and habits such as leaning on the elbow or keeping it bent.

How to make physiotherapy useful

You may learn to avoid direct elbow pressure and prolonged deep bending, including a night-time position that leaves the elbow more open. Gentle nerve-gliding may be used, but should not cause sustained tingling. Strength and coordination work can follow. Change position during desk, phone and driving tasks.

When to seek medical care

Arrange prompt assessment if numbness becomes constant, grip worsens, fingers become clumsy or hand muscles look smaller. Urgent care is appropriate after injury with marked weakness, lost sensation, severe swelling or a cold or pale hand.
