Follow the discharge instructions even if symptoms seem mild, because early review can identify a complication.

Ask which part will be removed, how eating will be restarted, whether a feeding tube is expected, and what symptoms require an urgent call. Ask about reflux control, activity limits, pathology results and the timing of any further cancer treatment.
