Prurigo nodularis causes intensely itchy, firm nodules that can be maintained by repeated scratching or rubbing. Your clinician will assess the number, thickness, healing, and distribution of nodules alongside your itch and sleep. Because scratching can reopen skin, phototherapy is commonly considered alongside itch control, wound care, and other prescribed treatment.

Keep scheduled visits and tell the team which areas are most itchy or prone to bleeding. Bring a complete list of medicines and skin products, especially anything that increases light sensitivity.
