Tinea versicolor is a superficial yeast-related skin condition that can produce lighter, darker, or mildly scaly patches, often on the chest, back, shoulders, or upper arms. The treatment addresses the yeast, not an instant change in pigment. Fine scale and new spots may settle first, while the colour of treated areas can remain uneven for a while.
