Swelling, bruising, tenderness, and unevenness can appear early. The lips may look fuller than intended before inflammation settles. Some of the transferred fat may be absorbed as healing progresses, so the early appearance is not the final result. Follow the clinician’s instructions about medicines, supplements, smoking, and eating before the procedure. Arrange a way home if sedation is used and keep the first day relatively quiet. Use only the recommended cold compress method, avoid pressing or massaging the lips unless instructed, and keep the injection sites clean.

Choose soft foods if chewing feels uncomfortable, drink fluids, and protect the lips from heat and sun while they heal. Attend follow-up visits so the clinician can assess swelling, contour, and the donor site before discussing any further treatment.

Contact your treatment team promptly if pain or swelling is worsening rather than easing, one area becomes unusually pale or dark, the skin feels cold, or you develop spreading redness, pus, fever, or difficulty breathing. Sudden vision changes or severe facial pain require urgent medical assessment.
