Shoulder osteoarthritis involves changes within the joint that can cause aching, stiffness and pain with rotation or reaching. Seek prompt medical advice for increasing joint pain, warmth, swelling, redness, drainage or fever after the procedure. Urgent assessment is needed for severe pain with an inability to move the shoulder, sudden arm weakness, breathing difficulty, facial swelling or widespread hives.

Ask which joint is being targeted, what improvement would count as meaningful, how to protect the shoulder afterward, and which exercises maintain function. Ask about longer-term options if arthritis continues to affect sleep or basic activities.
