You can also discuss technology, driving, work, school, emotional strain, and support from family. The aim is to understand patterns, not to judge individual readings.

Bring your glucose device or records, current insulin details, prescriptions, and questions about recent changes. Write down any hypos, severe highs, missed doses, injection problems, or concerns about eating and exercise. Ask how to adjust safely during illness or travel and what follow-up is needed. Continue prescribed insulin unless your diabetes team gives a specific alternative plan.

Get urgent help if you are confused, unconscious, having a seizure, struggling to breathe, or unable to keep fluids down. Seek prompt advice for repeated low glucose, persistent vomiting, marked drowsiness, or high readings with symptoms of dehydration or worsening illness.

Ask which glucose patterns matter most, how to manage activity and sick days, whether your injection sites need attention, and how to use your sensor or meter more effectively. Confirm your emergency plan and the date of follow-up.
