Pemphigus vulgaris is an autoimmune blistering disease that can affect skin and moist linings such as the mouth. Biologic therapy targets a defined immune pathway to reduce the activity that leads to blistering. It is usually part of a supervised plan rather than a stand-alone cure.

New blisters may lessen as inflammation comes under control, while existing erosions still need time and gentle care. Your specialist may examine the mouth, skin, eyes, and general health, and may use blood tests or other checks to guide treatment and assess infection risk.

Take or receive each dose exactly as prescribed and tell the team about every medicine, supplement, infection, vaccination, and previous reaction. Clean affected areas gently, avoid rubbing or deliberately breaking blisters, and use dressings or prescribed treatment for open erosions. Soft foods and non-irritating mouth care may help when oral lesions make eating uncomfortable.

Keep follow-up visits even when the skin looks better. Do not change steroid or immune treatment without specialist instructions, because abrupt changes can allow disease activity to return.

Contact the specialist promptly for rapidly spreading blisters, worsening mouth pain, inability to drink, fever, pus, increasing redness, or reduced urination. Seek urgent help for breathing difficulty, eye pain or vision change, or facial swelling after a dose. Extensive skin loss can cause fluid and infection problems and needs prompt medical assessment.
