What is the first treatment tried for gallstones?

Seek urgent care for severe or persistent upper abdominal pain, fever or chills, repeated vomiting, yellow skin or eyes, dark urine, pale stools, or marked tenderness. These features can signal inflammation or blockage and need prompt assessment rather than home observation. Do not drive yourself if pain is severe or you feel faint.
