Arrive with the skin free of heavy makeup if the clinic requests it, and tell the clinician about recent procedures, active rashes, or products that may change redness or peeling. Keep follow-up images under similar conditions when possible. Use the comparison to discuss whether a treatment is addressing the intended concern, whether irritation is developing, and what realistic next steps may be.

Seek a direct clinical assessment for a new or changing dark spot, a lesion that bleeds or does not heal, sudden swelling, or a painful rash. An imaging system can document appearance, but it should not delay examination of a symptom that needs medical attention. Ask for prompt review if an image shows a feature that is changing quickly.
