What is a robotic hair transplant system used for?

The system uses imaging and programmed movement to assess hairs in a donor region, often at the back or sides of the scalp. It can help the team choose follicles with a suitable angle and spacing, then guide their extraction. The follicles are later prepared and placed into recipient sites by the clinical team.

Robotic assistance supports a follicular unit extraction approach; it does not create new hair follicles or decide the complete treatment plan on its own. Hair density, donor supply, hair loss pattern, scalp health, and the desired hairline still need an in-person assessment. The clinician remains responsible for selecting the treatment design and checking each stage.

Ask for an assessment of the cause and pattern of hair loss before discussing extraction. Bring a list of medicines and mention scalp conditions, previous procedures, bleeding problems, or a tendency to form raised scars. The clinic should explain the donor area, expected number and placement of grafts, anaesthesia, recovery, and how existing hair may change over time.

Follow instructions about washing, smoking, alcohol, medicines, and activity. Afterward, protect the grafts from rubbing and follow the washing and sleeping guidance provided by the team. Do not judge the final appearance during the early healing phase, when crusting and temporary shedding may occur.

Contact the clinic if bleeding does not settle with the instructed pressure, or if pain, swelling, redness, warmth, or drainage is increasing. Urgent help is needed for breathing difficulty, faintness, widespread hives, or rapidly worsening facial swelling. Report fever or an area that becomes increasingly tender, since these may need prompt assessment.
