What is a PRP facial done with?

Platelet-rich plasma, often called PRP, is the portion of a blood sample that contains a higher concentration of platelets than whole blood. A clinician collects the sample, processes it, and uses the prepared plasma on or in the facial skin according to the treatment plan.

A centrifuge spins the blood sample so its components separate into layers. The clinician then identifies and draws up the intended plasma portion using sterile equipment. Some facial protocols combine PRP with microneedling, while others use small injections; the method should be explained before treatment.

Tell the clinician about anaemia, bleeding disorders, medicines that affect clotting, active skin infection, inflammatory skin disease, and any tendency to faint during blood collection. Eat and drink as advised by the clinic and arrive with clean skin if requested.

Redness, pinpoint bleeding, tenderness, tightness, or swelling may follow. Use only the products recommended for recovery, avoid picking or rubbing the skin, and protect it from strong heat and sun while it settles. The plan differs depending on whether PRP was microneedled, injected, or both.

Contact the clinic if pain, warmth, swelling, or redness is worsening, or if drainage develops. Seek urgent care for breathing difficulty, widespread swelling, fainting that does not settle, or sudden vision changes after treatment.
