What Is an NB-UVB Phototherapy Cabin Used For?

The cabin contains vertical lamps that expose several body areas in a planned session. It may be considered when a skin condition affects broad or multiple areas and local treatment would not be practical. Narrowband UVB can help calm inflammation or support repigmentation in selected conditions, including psoriasis, eczema, and vitiligo.

A cabin is medical equipment, not a tanning booth. The clinician sets exposure according to your skin type, condition, previous response, and medicines. The treatment area, protective measures, and dose can change from one visit to the next.

Before entering, remove products that the clinic has asked you to avoid and cover areas not being treated. Use the eye protection supplied, follow the positioning instructions, and tell staff if a treated area feels unusually hot or uncomfortable. Keep a record of new medicines and sun reactions so the team can reassess your plan.

Tell the clinic about redness that is severe, painful, persistent, or blistered after exposure. Seek urgent care for breathing difficulty, facial swelling, or a rapidly spreading reaction. Report eye pain, light sensitivity, or vision changes promptly rather than waiting for the next appointment.
