What Is HIFU Skin Lifting Done With?

The equipment includes a console and a handheld applicator. The practitioner places the applicator against the skin and chooses a cartridge or treatment setting designed for a particular depth. Focused ultrasound energy travels to those points and produces controlled heat below the surface. The method does not use needles, surgical cuts, or injectable filler.

The treatment may target areas such as the brow, cheeks, jawline, or neck when skin laxity is the concern. HIFU is not a substitute for surgery when there is substantial excess skin. Skin thickness, facial structure, previous procedures, and the location of nerves and other sensitive structures all affect planning.

At consultation, ask to see the treatment plan and clarify which applicator depths will be used. Tell the practitioner about active rashes, reduced sensation, dental or facial procedures, implanted devices, and medicines or conditions that affect healing. During the session, communicate promptly if the heat or discomfort becomes sharp or unexpected. Follow the clinic’s instructions for cleansing, sun exposure, and products afterward.
