What if uterine artery embolisation does not relieve pelvic pain?

Pain can continue while the treated tissue settles, but persistent or returning pain can also suggest that fibroids are not the only source. Pelvic muscles, endometriosis, adenomyosis, bladder or bowel problems, infection, and nerve-related pain may need consideration. The timing, location, bleeding pattern, and effect on daily activities help guide reassessment.

Contact the interventional radiology or gynaecology team that performed the procedure. Keep a brief record of pain timing, bleeding, fever, discharge, medicines, and whether movement or urination changes the pain. Do not change prescribed medicines without advice.
