What If Dermal Fillers Do Not Relieve Wrinkles?

Fillers restore selected volume or support beneath the skin. They may have less effect on lines caused mainly by repeated muscle movement, sun-related skin texture, creasing from skin laxity, or a shallow surface change. The injection site and product also matter, so a treatment intended for a fold may not erase a fine line.

Early swelling can temporarily blur the contour, while the treated area settles. A clinician should judge the result at the planned review, using your original concern and photographs rather than expecting every wrinkle to respond in the same way.

Arrange a follow-up with the injector. Explain whether the wrinkle is present at rest, appears mainly when you move your face, or feels unchanged when you touch the area. Keep a record of the product, location, and date of treatment. Do not have more filler injected or attempt to dissolve it until the treated area has been examined.
