What If Cryolipolysis Does Not Relieve Double Chin?

Cryolipolysis targets a layer of pinchable fat beneath the skin. Fullness under the chin can also reflect loose skin, a naturally prominent muscle or bone shape, swelling, or a position that is not suitable for the applicator. A treatment may therefore produce little visible change even when the procedure was performed correctly.

Visible change can take time as the body processes treated fat cells, so the treating clinician should assess the area at the planned review rather than judging the result immediately. A before-and-after comparison under similar lighting and head position can make subtle change easier to assess.

Contact the clinic that performed the treatment and describe what has changed, what has not, and whether the area feels tender, numb, firm, or uneven. Bring photographs taken from the front and side if requested. The clinician may examine skin laxity and the thickness of the fatty layer, then explain whether observation, a different treatment, or no further cosmetic treatment is appropriate.

Seek prompt medical advice for worsening pain, marked swelling, spreading redness, warmth, drainage, fever, or skin that becomes dark, pale, or blistered.
