What happens after prehabilitation?

Short answer

After prehabilitation, your team reviews your strength and function, confirms the next treatment stage, and gives you a recovery plan.

This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

At a glance

Review
Strength, movement, mobility, pain, and practical readiness may be discussed.
Next stage
The plan may proceed, be adjusted, or include further conditioning.

What the review checks

Prehabilitation is intended to prepare you for a procedure or a demanding recovery. At the end, the team may review walking, joint movement, strength, balance, pain control, sleep, nutrition, and your ability to manage daily tasks. The decision to proceed is based on the planned procedure, your health, and the surgeon's assessment; completing exercises does not itself guarantee a date or outcome. Some people move into operation planning, while others need more conditioning or a change in the plan.

Preparing for the next stage

Keep the exercises that your therapist has approved and practise any transfers, walking aids, breathing exercises, or home arrangements discussed. Make sure you understand medicine instructions, fasting or arrival instructions if a procedure is planned, and who will guide rehabilitation afterwards. Arrange help for tasks that may be difficult during early recovery. Prehabilitation may lead into ACL Reconstruction, Total Hip Replacement, or Total Knee Replacement, each with its own restrictions and rehabilitation milestones.

When to seek care

Tell your team about a new illness, worsening pain, skin changes near the planned treatment area, fever, or a sudden decline in mobility before the next appointment. Seek urgent care for chest pain, severe breathing difficulty, fainting, new one-sided weakness, or an injured limb that becomes cold or numb. Do not increase training to compensate for missed sessions without advice.

Questions for your doctor

Ask whether you are ready for the next step, which exercises should continue, what recovery will involve at home, and when rehabilitation restarts. Confirm the warning signs and contact number to use before treatment.

Ordered by verification status and how complete each clinic's public record is, then alphabetically. This is a directory listing, not a ranking — Zavis does not rate or recommend providers.

A factual listing drawn from the DHA, DOH and MOHAP licence registers. It is not a referral, an endorsement, or advice that any of these providers is right for you.

Questions people ask

Does finishing prehabilitation mean surgery will definitely happen?

No. The treating team still considers your health, symptoms, examination, and the procedure's risks and benefits.

Should I stop exercising once prehabilitation ends?

Do not stop or intensify the programme without guidance; continue the approved exercises while the next plan is confirmed.
