Your clinic confirms what was stored, how it is labelled, and how consent and storage arrangements are managed. You may have follow-up after hormone stimulation or egg collection, with attention to bleeding, pain, and recovery. If preservation was planned before cancer treatment, the oncology and fertility teams coordinate timing so the next treatment is not delayed unnecessarily.

Preserved eggs or embryos do not create a pregnancy on their own. Future use involves a separate treatment plan, which may include thawing, fertilisation for eggs, embryo transfer, and pregnancy care. Your options can change with health, preferences, and treatment needs.

Keep your fertility and oncology appointments, medication instructions, and storage documents together. Tell both teams about new symptoms or medicines. Ask how long recovery may take, when another treatment can begin, and who manages storage questions. If you may use eggs later, ask what preparation is required and how decisions about storage or disposal are recorded.

After stimulation or egg collection, seek prompt advice for worsening abdominal pain, marked swelling, repeated vomiting, reduced urination, heavy bleeding, fever, or breathing difficulty. Urgent assessment is needed for severe breathlessness, collapse, or sudden severe pain. Do not wait for a routine fertility follow-up when symptoms are intense or rapidly changing.

Ask what was preserved, what recovery signs are expected, how storage consent works, and how fertility treatment fits around your other care. Ask who will coordinate appointments if preservation was completed before chemotherapy or another time-sensitive treatment.
