What does sore throat feel like with strep throat?

Sore Throat is a very common presentation of Strep Throat. The pain may be sharp, burning, or raw and can make swallowing food, drinks, or saliva uncomfortable. The tonsils may look red or swollen, sometimes with pale patches. Fever, headache, tiredness, and tender glands at the front of the neck can accompany the throat pain. Cough, runny nose, and hoarseness are less typical of this pattern, but symptoms can vary.
