What does sensitive skin feel like with atopic dermatitis?

Atopic dermatitis can weaken the skin barrier, allowing moisture to escape and making everyday contact feel uncomfortable. Itching may lead to rubbing, which can thicken the skin or cause cracks. Flares often affect the face, hands, neck, or skin folds, but the pattern varies.
