What Does Shoulder Arthroscopy Treat?

The surgeon uses an arthroscope, a narrow camera passed through small skin openings, to view the joint and nearby structures. Small instruments can remove inflamed tissue or loose fragments, repair selected tears, smooth damaged tissue, or address a tendon problem when appropriate. Conditions such as Calcific Tendinitis and Frozen Shoulder may be considered for arthroscopic treatment in selected situations. The exact operation depends on the examination, imaging, symptoms, and previous treatment.
