What do painful armpit lumps feel like with boils?

A boil begins around an infected hair follicle and can become a painful, rounded lump. The skin may look red and feel hot. As pus collects, the centre can soften or develop a visible head, while the surrounding area remains tight and sore. Friction, sweating, and movement can make an armpit boil especially uncomfortable.
