What does itchy skin feel like with contact dermatitis?

The itch may stay in the area that touched an irritant or allergen. Skin can feel dry, hot, tight, tender, or prickly, and scratching may make the irritation more noticeable. Redness, small bumps, swelling, scaling, or tiny fluid-filled blisters can appear with the itch.
