What does facial swelling feel like with food allergy?

Swelling may affect the lips, eyelids, cheeks, tongue, or around the mouth. The skin can feel itchy, warm, numb, or stretched, and hives may appear. Food-allergy symptoms can begin soon after eating, although timing varies. Stomach cramps, vomiting, cough, wheeze, throat tightness, dizziness, or a hoarse voice can occur with facial swelling.
