What does bone pain feel like with spinal cord compression?

The pain may be central in the back or neck, deep, persistent, and worse when coughing, sneezing, or lying down. It can spread around the chest or down an arm or leg if nearby nerves are irritated. Tingling, altered sensation, heaviness, or muscle weakness may occur alongside the ache. These symptoms can also arise from ordinary back problems, so the sensation does not establish a cause by itself.
