What does bleeding in early pregnancy feel like with ectopic pregnancy?

An ectopic pregnancy develops outside the main cavity of the uterus, often in a fallopian tube. Bleeding may be brown or red, light, and unlike a usual period. Discomfort may start as lower abdominal or pelvic pain and become focused on one side. Some people also feel shoulder-tip pain, dizziness, weakness, or pressure in the rectum. Symptoms can change, and the amount of bleeding does not show how serious the situation is.

Bleeding early in pregnancy has other possible causes, including normal cervical sensitivity, miscarriage, and infection. Only an assessment can establish the explanation.
