What are the treatment options for lung nodule?

A lung nodule is a small spot seen on imaging. It can reflect a healed infection, inflammation, a benign growth, or cancer. Its size, shape, location, smoking history, previous cancer, and comparison with older scans help determine the next step. A nodule alone does not establish a cancer diagnosis.

Confirmed cancer may require surgery, radiotherapy, or other treatment based on its type and stage.

Ask the clinician who found the nodule whether older images are available for comparison and what follow-up interval is planned.
