What should you know about warm itchy feet?

Athlete's foot often presents with itching, scaling, cracking, or soggy skin between the toes. Contact dermatitis can follow exposure to footwear materials, detergents, or creams. Dyshidrotic eczema may cause intensely itchy small blisters on the soles or sides of the feet. Heat and trapped moisture can aggravate each pattern, but warmth with spreading redness or tenderness needs prompt assessment.

Wash gently, dry carefully between the toes, and change damp socks. Choose breathable footwear and avoid sharing towels or shoes. Pause any new foot product if irritation began after using it. Do not pop blisters. If scaling and itching suggest athlete's foot, a clinician or pharmacist can advise whether topical antifungal treatment is suitable.

Seek prompt medical care for rapidly spreading redness, significant swelling, severe pain, pus, fever, or red streaks. Arrange an appointment when symptoms keep returning, affect both feet extensively, or do not improve with basic measures, especially if you have diabetes or reduced sensation.

Ask whether the distribution fits infection, contact dermatitis, or eczema, whether testing is needed, and which treatment is safe for cracked or blistered skin.
