A robotic surgical system does not operate independently. The surgeon uses imaging, measurements and instruments to plan bone preparation and implant positioning, then guides the system within the planned boundaries. The aim is to support consistent decisions about alignment and soft-tissue balance during the operation.

The underlying problem is often knee osteoarthritis, but suitability depends on pain, function, examination, imaging, general health and previous treatments. Robotic assistance does not turn every knee replacement into the same operation, and it does not remove normal surgical or recovery considerations.

Seek urgent help for chest pain, difficulty breathing or sudden weakness. Call for advice if pain is escalating rather than gradually becoming more manageable, or if the knee suddenly becomes unstable after an injury.
