Vero cell inactivated anti-SARS-CoV-2 vaccine (Sinopharm)

Vero cells are laboratory-grown cells used during vaccine manufacture. In an inactivated vaccine, the viral material cannot reproduce in the body. It is used to show the immune system what to recognise, so later exposure can trigger a faster defensive response. Vaccination does not give someone COVID-19. The recommended product, dose timing, and need for additional doses depend on age, health, previous vaccination, and current local guidance. Protection is not an immediate substitute for assessment when symptoms are severe.

Bring your vaccination record and tell the clinician about allergies, a previous severe vaccine reaction, pregnancy, immune problems, recent illness, or medicines that suppress immunity. Remain for the observation period advised at the vaccination site. Soreness, fatigue, headache, or fever may occur for a short time. Continue any public-health precautions advised for your circumstances, because vaccination does not make every infection impossible.

Call emergency services for trouble breathing, swelling of the face or throat, collapse, or sudden severe weakness after vaccination. Seek prompt medical advice for chest pain, persistent palpitations, a severe or worsening headache, or symptoms that concern you. A fever, cough, sore throat, or tiredness can have several causes and does not by itself confirm COVID-19. A clinician can advise about testing and treatment based on timing, examination, and risk factors.
