What should you know about TNBC survival?

Triple-negative breast cancer is defined by receptor results, but tumours within this group can behave differently. The team considers whether disease is confined to the breast, whether lymph nodes are involved, whether it has spread elsewhere, and how it responds to treatment. Age, other health conditions, fitness, and the ability to receive planned treatment can also affect decisions.

The word survival may refer to different outcomes, including living with no evidence of disease, living with treated cancer, or living while receiving treatment for cancer that has spread. Ask your clinician which outcome they mean before comparing information.

Ask for your stage, pathology summary, treatment goal, and signs that treatment is working. Keep a record of medicines, side effects, appointments, and questions. Report side effects early because the team may be able to adjust supportive care or treatment timing.
