What should you know about TNBC day?

An awareness day may help people learn the meaning of TNBC, remember loved ones, find peer support, or encourage conversations about symptoms and screening. It is not a medical test, a diagnosis, or a substitute for an oncology appointment.

Triple-negative breast cancer is defined by the absence of estrogen receptors, progesterone receptors, and excess HER2 protein on testing. The label can affect which medicines are considered, but stage, tumour features, gene findings, and general health also shape decisions.

Bring your pathology report and medication list to appointments, write down questions, and ask who to contact outside clinic hours. Your team may discuss chemotherapy, immunotherapy, surgery, radiotherapy, or PARP inhibitor therapy depending on your results. Use awareness information as a prompt for a clinical conversation rather than as personal treatment advice.

Seek urgent medical help for severe breathlessness, chest pain, fainting, confusion, heavy bleeding, or a high fever during cancer treatment. Call your oncology team promptly for new symptoms that are less severe but persistent, especially after an infusion or procedure.
