What tired itchy eyes can mean
Allergic conjunctivitis commonly causes itching, watering, redness and a gritty feeling in both eyes. Allergic rhinitis can add sneezing or a blocked, runny nose. Dust mites and pet dander may trigger symptoms, while dry air, contact lenses, smoke or long periods of screen use can irritate the eye surface. Tiredness may become more noticeable when blinking less or sleeping poorly. A symptom alone cannot identify its cause.
What you can do now
Avoid rubbing your eyes, wash your hands, and use a cool clean compress for comfort. Take regular screen breaks, blink deliberately and keep air from fans or vents away from your face. Remove contact lenses if they feel uncomfortable and use glasses until the eyes settle. An allergy clinician or pharmacist can explain whether Allergy Medication is suitable, especially if you have other medicines or eye conditions. Keep a note of triggers such as cleaning, pets or outdoor exposure.
When to seek care
Arrange medical advice if symptoms persist, recur frequently, or affect sleep, work or vision. Seek urgent care for severe eye pain, marked light sensitivity, a sudden change in sight, significant swelling, an injury, or thick discharge. Contact-lens wearers should seek prompt advice for pain, redness or reduced vision because corneal problems need timely assessment.
Questions for your doctor
Ask whether the pattern fits Allergic Conjunctivitis, and whether nasal symptoms suggest Allergic Rhinitis. Mention exposure to House Dust Mite Allergy or Pet Allergy triggers, contact-lens use, medicines and any change in vision. Ask which drops or other treatment are appropriate and how long to try them.

Questions people ask
Can screen use cause tired itchy eyes?
It can contribute to surface irritation and tiredness, particularly when you blink less or work in dry air; breaks and deliberate blinking may help.
Should I keep wearing contact lenses?
Remove lenses if the eyes are itchy, red or painful, and seek advice promptly if symptoms include reduced vision or marked discomfort.
