Tinea Versicolor With Dry, Flaky Skin

Tinea versicolor affects the skin surface, where it can produce fine flakes that are more visible after rubbing or when the skin is dry. The area may feel slightly itchy, rough, or otherwise normal. Colour changes can be lighter or darker than nearby skin. Heavy cracking, marked soreness, or thick crust is less typical and may point to irritation, eczema, or infection from another cause.
