Tension headache with a runny nose

Tension-type headache commonly feels like pressure or a steady ache, with tightness around the head, neck, or shoulders. A runny nose more often points toward nasal irritation, a viral illness, allergy, or another local cause. Congestion, poor sleep, dehydration, and repeated nose blowing can make head discomfort harder to manage. Facial pressure, fever, thick discharge, or a prominent one-sided headache may need a clinician to consider causes other than tension-type headache.

Drink fluids, rest, and use saline nasal measures if they are suitable for you. Reduce screen strain and gently relax your neck and shoulders.
