Tension headache at the bridge of the nose: what to know

Short answer
A tension headache at the bridge of the nose may feel like pressure from facial and neck muscle tension, but nasal, eye, or neurological symptoms can point elsewhere.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

Why the bridge of the nose can hurt
Tension-type headache is commonly described as pressure or tightening across the forehead and face. Tight facial, jaw, scalp, or neck muscles can make discomfort seem centred at the bridge of the nose, especially after screen use or sustained concentration. Nasal blockage, facial tenderness, thick discharge, reduced smell, or fever may indicate a sinus or other nasal problem instead. Burning, tingling, a rash, eye watering, or marked one-sided facial pain also changes the assessment. The nose location by itself does not identify the cause.
Steps that may help
Take a break from close visual work, blink regularly, and loosen your jaw and shoulders. Gentle neck movement and a warm compress over tense muscles may be comfortable. If you have nasal congestion, saline rinsing may help when used with clean water and appropriate technique; avoid inserting objects into the nose. Use any pain medicine only as directed on its label, and seek pharmacist advice when other medicines or health conditions could affect your choice. Write down triggers, nasal symptoms, and how the pain changes.
Warning signs
Get urgent care for a sudden severe headache, new neurological symptoms, vision loss, swelling around an eye, a painful red eye, confusion, or a high fever with a stiff neck. Seek prompt review for facial pain with persistent fever, worsening swelling, injury, or symptoms that continue despite ordinary measures. A GP can examine the nose, eyes, jaw, and neck and decide whether further assessment is needed.
Useful questions
Do my nasal symptoms suggest a sinus or nasal cause rather than muscle tension? Could eye strain or jaw clenching be contributing? What treatment is suitable, and what change should prompt an urgent review?

Questions people ask
Does pressure at the bridge of the nose always mean sinusitis?
No. Muscle tension and eye strain can create facial pressure, while congestion, discharge, fever, and tenderness may suggest a nasal or sinus problem.
When should facial pressure be checked?
Arrange assessment when it is persistent, worsening, associated with fever or eye changes, or accompanied by a severe or unusual headache.
