What should you know about tear trough filler hollow eyes?

A tear trough is a depression running from the inner lower eyelid toward the cheek. It can cast a shadow that makes the eyes look deeper or more tired. Natural facial structure, changes in soft-tissue volume, thin skin, loose skin, and cheek contour can all influence the appearance. Dark colour may remain even when a groove is softened.

Hollow eyes are not automatically a sign of illness. A sudden change, especially with pain, swelling, redness, or vision symptoms, is different from a long-standing cosmetic contour and should be assessed medically.

A consultation should examine the lower eyelid, tear trough, cheek, skin quality, and symmetry. Hyaluronic acid filler may be discussed when a carefully selected hollow is the main concern. The clinician should explain the possibility of swelling, bluish colour, lumps, asymmetry, and a result that does not match the intended contour.

Seek urgent care for sudden vision change, severe eye pain, double vision, rapidly worsening swelling, or pale or dusky skin after an injection. Contact the treating clinic promptly for increasing pain, warmth, redness, drainage, fever, or a firm painful lump. These findings need timely examination.

Ask: Is the hollow in the tear trough or cheek? Would filler improve the shadow without making the lower eyelid heavy? Could pigment or vessels explain the colour? What aftercare applies, how will you review the result, and which warning signs require urgent help?
