What should you know about tamsulosin skin rash?

A tamsulosin rash cannot be diagnosed from a photograph or name alone. Note whether it is flat or raised, itchy or painful, localised or spreading, and whether it appeared after starting or changing a medicine. A drug rash, contact dermatitis, heat rash, fungal infection, or another inflammatory condition may have overlapping features.

List every prescription, over-the-counter product, supplement, and topical product used recently. A clinician may also ask about fever, swelling, breathing symptoms, and changes around the eyes or mouth. Do not assume the rash is harmless because it began on one small area.

Contact the prescriber or pharmacist and explain the timing, body areas involved, and whether the rash is changing. Wash gently, avoid hot water and fragranced products, and wear loose clothing over irritated skin. Photograph the rash before applying anything new.
