What should you know about T2 prostate cancer?

The T2 stage indicates that cancer can be felt or seen within the prostate but has not been shown by the staging assessment to grow beyond it. Subcategories may describe how much of the gland is involved. Grade, PSA level, biopsy findings, age, other health conditions, and preferences add important context.

The care team may combine a rectal examination, PSA testing, MRI, and Biopsy. Difficulty Passing Urine can occur with prostate conditions, but that symptom alone cannot identify the stage or cause.

Ask whether active surveillance is suitable and what tests would be repeated. Treatment options can include Prostate Removal Surgery, sometimes performed as Robotic Cancer Surgery, or Radiotherapy. Brachytherapy places radiation sources within or near the prostate. Other radiation methods may be considered for particular findings, while Targeted Radioisotope Therapy and Bone-Strengthening Therapy generally relate to different disease situations and should be explained in context.

Tell your clinician about worsening urinary difficulty, blood in the urine, new bone pain, leg weakness, numbness, or loss of bladder or bowel control. Inability to pass urine, severe back pain with weakness, or sudden loss of sensation needs urgent assessment. Treatment side effects such as fever, severe bleeding, or inability to drink also warrant prompt contact.
