What should you know about T-cell myeloma?

Myeloma is a blood cancer involving plasma cells, immune cells that normally help make antibodies. The phrase T-cell myeloma can be confusing because classic myeloma arises from plasma cells rather than ordinary T cells. Your haematology team may use specialised laboratory and tissue findings to clarify exactly what the diagnosis describes.

Ask which test established the diagnosis, whether the report describes a plasma-cell disorder or another T-cell condition, and which organs need monitoring. Treatment may combine medicines that act throughout the body, including Chemotherapy or Targeted Therapy.
