What should you know about sudden hives all over body?

Hives, or urticaria, are temporary raised areas caused by the release of inflammatory chemicals in the skin. Individual welts may change shape, fade, and appear elsewhere while the episode continues. Triggers can include foods, medicines, infections, heat, pressure, exercise, or no identifiable trigger. Itchy skin and a skin rash commonly accompany hives.
