What should you know about stomach to breast fat transfer?

A surgeon removes fat from the abdomen or another donor area, prepares the cells, and injects them into selected breast planes. This can improve contour and provide a natural tissue feel, but it is not the same as placing an implant and is not a weight-loss operation. Some transferred fat may not remain, so the final shape develops during healing. Breast screening history and existing lumps or imaging findings must be discussed.

Choose a properly qualified surgeon and discuss the amount of fullness you want, donor-site contour, scars, anaesthesia, recovery, and the possibility of staged treatment. Your assessment may include breast examination and imaging when clinically indicated. Arrange help for the early recovery period, follow compression and wound instructions, and avoid pressure or strenuous activity until cleared. Contact the surgical team for increasing wound redness, drainage, fever, worsening pain, sudden breast swelling, or breathing symptoms. A new persistent breast lump after healing also needs clinical assessment rather than being assumed to be a normal result.

Ask how much donor fat is available, what change is realistic, where incisions will be, how breast imaging may look afterward, and how complications are managed. Discuss smoking, medicines, previous breast surgery, future pregnancy, screening plans, and whether an implant or no procedure better matches your goals.
